Re: Funeral notice for Ciara”CeCe” Shay Savage
Ciara “CeCe” Shay Savage, age 9, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on May 10, 2009 at the York Hospital, York, PA.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Kaboni Savage of Philadelphia, PA and Jasmine Vadell, Lancaster and the step- daughter of Larry Eugene DeShields, of York.
Ciara was a student at Ross Elementary School in Lancaster.
She was a member of the Boys and Girls Club. She loved to sing and dance. Ciara was a loving and caring individual. She was a little “Diva”. She enjoyed board games, roller- skating, making friends and doing her family’s hair.
Surviving in addition to her parents, step-father are sisters Iyana Lanea DeShields, Kimoni Savage, Ciani Savage, brother Kaiion Savage; step-brothers and sisters Larry, Quanna, Shanelle, Lorenz, Lalani DeShields, all of York. Also surviving are maternal grandmother Ramona Latorre, fiance of Joe, Lancaster; maternal grandfather Jose Vadell, companion of Sara, Camden, NJ; paternal grandmother Barbara Savage, Philadelphia; five aunts Olivia Latorre fiancé of Paul Costello, Ramona Latorre all of Lancaster; Conchetta Savage wife of Wayne Bank; Kidada Savage all of Philadelphia; Tracy DeShields, York; four uncles Jose Vadell, Lancaster; Marcus DeShields, York ; Janero Vadell and Nathaniel Vadell both of NJ. Her paternal grandfather Joseph Savage preceded her in death.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Ciara’s Life Celebration Funeral service at Bright Side Baptist Church, 515 Hershey Ave., Lancaster, PA, on
Monday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Granville Dennison officiating. Friends may call at the Funeral Home of Fred F. Groff, Inc., 234 W. Orange St., Lancaster, PA, on Sunday from 6-8 PM and at the church on Monday from 9:00 AM until time of service. Interment will be in Mellinger’s Mennonite Cemetery. Please omit flowers. If desired, memorial contributions may be sent to Ciara Savage Memorial Fund, C/O PNC Bank, 949 E. King St., Lancaster, PA 17602 to assist the family. www.lifecelebration.com
Joe Tetz Horse Drawn Carriage Hearse was part of a Funeral service for Francis Funeral Home, Inc. 5201 Whitby Avenue Philadelphia, PA 19143 Pa. which stopped in front of the deceased home and the brass band played a tune and then we went on to the cemetery which was about six miles from their funeral home to Westminster Cemetery. Barb doing a great job of watching over Pete and Tina who are doing well in the city Philadelphia with its heavy traffic and tight streets.
The grey hearse and black caisson is owned by Joe Tetz Horse Drawn Funerals for hire to anyone. The other hearse in the photo's are owned by funeral homes and you would need to contact them for use with the white horses.
